Pot-Lucks run monthly on a Friday night. They bring people together over home-cooked food and they've been running successfully for a few years now. They've been particularly popular amongst the foodies within BREAZE. Michele, the Local Food action group coordinator, is looking for someone to take over the reins of the BREAZE Pot-Lucks.
What's involved? Time committment: a couple of hours per month. Responsibilities: find a location, advertise in the BREAZE newsletter and respond to RSVP’s. It's an easy way to help BREAZE and keep the great social food tradition rolling on! If you are interested and want to talk to Michele or Jill about the role, email

Funding from government departments and philantropic trusts is crucial to BREAZE and we need help in making sure that we continue to gain such support. The BREAZE Board would like to put together a small team (4-6) people who will help BREAZE by identifying funding opportunities and preparing grant submissions. If you have previous administrative experience, we'd love you to be part of the team!

BlazeAid joins the flood recovery effort. For the last month, BlazeAid fencing teams have been working alongside farmers to help clear away debris from fence lines, remove damaged fencing and then repair or replace the fences.
Hundreds of kilometres of fences have been damaged or swept away, so that the affected paddocks become unusable. There are BlazeAid bases being set up in affected areas in Queensland, NSW and Victoria. The people who come to help are ordinary Australians who want to do something, and not just leave it to Government. Some come for a day, some for a week, some stay longer – it’s catching! Many are retired, others on holiday, others have a day to spare.

Are you interested in helping our community to live sustainably? Here's your opportunity to create the change you want to see!
Opening in Lydiard Street in December 2011, Smart Living Ballarat aims to be a one-stop-shop where people can connect to local skills, expertise and resources that will help them to live smarter.
Weekly, fortnightly or monthly shifts of a 3 hour duration will be available. Full training will be provided - you don’t need to be an expert on all things sustainable.
Find out more about the centre and what is involved by contacting the BREAZE office.

The BREAZE Market Stall is in hot demand! But we can't cover all events unless we have a dedicated team of people. If you're interested in spending a couple of hours here and there helping out on the BREAZE stall, contact

No-one needs to commit to extraordinary hours. 1-3 hours per market is all it takes! Let us know your availability and we can line up time for a chat in the office and talk through role of helping out on the BREAZE stall.
Generally, we try to pair people up so you're not alone. The markets we go to provide a platform for our team to meet new people and talk sustainability with like-minded folk. It's often a two-way learning experience and no-one needs to (or possibly could!) know everything that BREAZE are up to in Ballarat. The crucial thing is that we get out there and provide a friendly, relaxed space where people are comfortable to come and chat or make enquiries.
Upcoming market stalls: City of Ballarat Farmers Market, Saturday 5th March Lakeside Farmers Market, last Saturday of the month Andersons Mill, Sunday 3rd April |
