The result of which saw us hastily creating a home for two new Bantam chickens. Whether it is because I am a relatively new parent, or something else, I have found myself with fairly strong feelings towards 'the girls'. I really want them to be comfortable and welcome in their new home. My main concern is temperature control. I happened to have some left over insulation from our mudbrick shed we built, just the thing for Ballarat chooks. Understandably, the 'girls' were a little nervous following the recent insulation debacle, but once it was all installed, they were put at ease with many creature comforts one would expect. One thing I was really excited about was that the only items we had to leave the property for was the wire and nails to attach the wire. All the other materials were collected from around the place, including:
Next up, time to isulate the lounge room floor... Have you insulated lately?

Friends of ours recenlty rescued some battery hens. When they got them home, the newly rescued chooks began hassling the existing chooks. The existing chooks needed rescuing!
